2006.10.11 Julie Stoffer in for Morgan Webb on X-Play

• Written by Site Contributor - Highway

Adam and JulieFor those that haven't seen the new episodes of X-Play this week, Morgan Webb is out again and standing in for her as guest co-host is Julie Stoffer from the G4 gaming show, Electric Playground. Now, this article is not to speculate why Morgan is not available again with talks such as:

  • G4 is beginning to phase out Morgan
  • Morgan will be doing more publications like FHM
  • Contract disputes with G4 forces Morgan to seek other opportunities
  • Social obligations has Morgan elsewhere

We're not here to discuss that right now.

G4: Julie StofferInstead, we're here to acknowledge the chemistry between the two co-hosts. Julie, having had more air-time in front of the camera and her own show to co-host, has a better rapport with Adam -- her responses and interactions with him appeared to be more natural (plus she knows how to laugh).

Now, we're not saying that the replacement of Morgan, is something we're looking forward to (nor are we saying that Morgan is going to be replaced), but should when that moment comes and she is no-longer on the show (and again, we're not speculating anything at this time), we feel that Julie is the person to go to for the next co-host of X-Play.

Those that have watched the episodes, please chime in with your opinions regarding Julie's interaction on the show.

[OPENQUOTE]* Morgan could be having Lyposuction on her chin (a social obligation).[CLOSEQUOTE]

[OPENQUOTE]Lyposuction? Is that true? Do you people think that she would do something like that?[CLOSEQUOTE]

[OPENQUOTE]I think Julie has done well. Occasionally bringing her in to give Adam or Morgan time off would be o.k. with me. I would like to here her do reviews in a style consistent with X-Play.[CLOSEQUOTE]

[OPENQUOTE]Xplay doesn't work for me if Morgan isn't part of it. Let's hope G4 doesn't make that mistake and replace her. [CLOSEQUOTE]

[OPENQUOTE]I really liked Blair Butler as Morgan's fill-in too. Morgan's gorgeous, yeah. But these two (I assume. Haven't seen Julie's eps) just are so much better than Morgan. Makes you wonder if Morgan is a casualty of the upcoming G4 downsizing. Maybe she knows it's a sinking ship all over again? I mean, moving into the E! studios sounds like trouble for a network like g4.[CLOSEQUOTE]

[OPENQUOTE]I dont think julie is as good at all neither is blair morgan is what makes xplay well... xplay, and also i dont think morgan is quitting or being replaced ect i think she has simply taken vacations. Or perhaps she has been sick. she cant be on the show all the time and i think that these recent 2 weeks were just coincidences that they came at around the same time. also morgan was back on xplay again today.[CLOSEQUOTE]

[OPENQUOTE]The ONLY reason I watch Xplay is because of Morgan. G-4 has made so many mistakes since getting rid of Leo Lapote. Letting Morgan leave would be the last straw for me.[CLOSEQUOTE]

[OPENQUOTE]i was watching extended play before morgan and i thought i wasnt gonna like her and now she's my idol. to tell you the truth i really dont like Julie or Blair. i hope morgan comes back so, i like the chemistry with adam and morgan better. julie seems like the girlfriend who wants to be down and just doesnt have "it" and blair just not kool with adam. she isnt funny with him and seems to try a bit too hard. dont get me wrong i like Julie and Blair on there other shows, they just arent X-PLAY material. Morgan is missed. and i think adam misses her too. she looks sad :( "COME BACK MORGAN"[CLOSEQUOTE]

[OPENQUOTE]X-Play will never be the same when Morgan leaves.[CLOSEQUOTE]

[OPENQUOTE]Morgan is what makes X-Play what it is today. And I completely agree with Angelo Gino in that they made a HUGE mistake when getting rid of Leo Laporte (Speaking of which, if you know where I can watch Call for Help, email me! xD). If they also get rid of Morgan, they'll be offing one of their best people. The fans will not be happy. Whether it's the true Webbheads or just the fanboys, they will be upset. Sure, the fanboys will ogle over someone else, but the Webbheads will have lost one of their primary sources of all that is Holy in this world. In summary; G4 offs Morgan, and they suck. They suck, and they get flushed down the proverbial drain.[CLOSEQUOTE]
