It's official -- starting Monday, March 28th, the name The Screen Savers will be no more. Instead the show will now be called:

Attack of the Show

Yup, you heard me right, what do you think of this? Voice your thoughts/opinions.

My Personal Opinion

One good thing about the name change is that the majority of those who watched TSS prior to the buyout would agree that the current version of the show is nothing like the Screen Savers prior to the merge and it will never be like it again; releasing the show from the name "The Screen Savers" is the best thing that the powers-that-be at G4 have done since.

That being said, how did they ever come up with the title "Attack of the Show" as the new show? Did the person who came up with the idea a big Star Wars fanboy? To actually understand the naming of the show, I would have to watch the actual show when it comes out on March 28th, 2005.

A full review of the show and the name concept will be presented.

I suppose one can be glad that G4 is hiring the mentally handicapped; how else could they have come up with that title? The title is garbage, but that means it fits the show as it is now...and G4, too, for that matter. Actually, I do have another theory: G4 has taken the plot of _The Producers_ as their business plan. They should rename G4 to "The 24 Hour Video Game Infomercial". It must be nice to act like your reviewing video games all day, but you're actually getting paid to advertise the games on every show on the network all day long. I'm sure "Attack of the Show" will eventually turn into another show for advertising video games. Everyone needs to boycott G4! [CLOSEQUOTE]

G$ seriously pisses me off. they only have 1 show that i watch now, and thats X-Play, which isnt even theirs to begin with. All of the G$ hosts are really lame, and deserve to be shot. They fired all the GOOD TechTV hosts, and wont air the last episode of unscrewed because Martin Sargent said some bad (probably truthful) things about G$... wow [CLOSEQUOTE]

Attack of the Show? Who the hell came up with that idea? I seriously am not a fan of G4 Tech TV but, my brother watches it and I think that Attack of the Show kisses ass. It seriously pisses me off. I just got used to The Screen Savers and now Attack of the Shoe. I mean, i used to watch The Screen Savers (well a little) but then they fired Alex and thsoe other good guys. hmmm seems like an ok name i guess but ill miss the name TSS i love techtv even though its G4 now, i dont mind it but i c on this thread how so many ppl r pissed... like come on im a bit pissed too but stop bitchin already come on! I could easly make fun of g4 for this, and the fact they now must rely on hocking gamefly.com on air and new movies coming out for revenue as they lost much of there advertising. But Instead I point you over to Tina Woods blog, where she is hocking the damn PSP. so I conclude that it is not G4s fault they suck ass (excpet that they hired the idiots) but the hosts who seem to only be able to try and sell crap to you and me. 1 last thing, to that guy who said that the new TSS is better, did you ever watch the old tss??. Okay, you people have to realize that G4 listens to the majority of viewers (not the people at this website), and the majority of viewers (it seems) don't even watch The Screen Savers so they made some modifications. I'm not trying to sound like a know-it-all but you have to stop complaining and live with the fact that The Screen Savers is gone. Hi, For the love of God, I had to express my pain about G4. The original TSS was a great show. I'd watch at 7 & 12am. After G4 took over, TSS became a joke. Apparently, the production team itself came up with the name. But the new team annoys me, anyway. It's just a terrible name. It doesn't even mean anything. It's just ridiculous. And the show itself, I just watched it and was absolutely dumbfounded. Why would anyone watch such drivel? Of course, it is drivel like this that makes up the majority of G4's programming. G4 is not the network for gamers. It's the network for bad actors and second rate broadcasters to find a job. I watch the channel because it has subjects I like. The ScreenSavers name was changed because it didn't fit the G4 show profile. G4 only bought TechTV for its market share. The name Attack of the Show came from the comments of the original TSS viewers. G4 sucked when it came to the technical value of the ScreenSavers and felt the show was under attack by its original TSS viewers. Now that the ScreenSavers is gone and the new show is crap, there is no longer a need to insult G4 for what they did to the ScreenSavers. There is also no need to watch G4, unless you like game infomercials and brainless programming. [CLOSEQUOTE]

I don't mind the new name so much as I mind the new content. First it was the darth vader in the singles bar for the intro, but the webserver up someone's rectum was what really killed it for me. Morgan is only hot to those who have little to no contact with real women. She's far from being ugly, but I'd catagorize her as "mildy-attractive" at best, and "only average" if I'm being brutally honest. As for the name "Attack of the Show", I think some of you are making a mountain out of a mole-hill. It's not a terrible name, though the quality of the show is rather terrible in itself. Screensavers was one of the most intesting informatove shows on the air, even when it dumbed down slightly...call for Help was a pretty good show...this G4 is the worst thing on TV, The Soap Opera channel, networks that just sell jewelry with women with big hair hawking the goods, stations taht show raving evangelists...these are all ona par with G4...now most of TV is dimb and getting dumber...how many history and discovery and learning cahnnels nneeds to be doing history of weapons history of war history of police how to humiliate people....is this really what the young of today crave...dumb dumber and dumbest programming.. It doesn't matter they gave a stupid name to the show....it had become almost totally lame and what is the difference..there is no reason for this station at all...and I find it impossible to believe they picked up any market share by buying TechTV as tehy have to have lost almost all those viewers on any sort of regular basis...nothing else on this network is remotely informative or intersting except maybe the Japanese cartoons.. what an unbelievable waste to kill off TechTV and TSS and all the rest for this load of nonsense.. geea now there is almsot nothing left on TV at all..G4 should be roasted in hell when tehy are gone, made to watch bad TV 24 hours a day, though what could be bad if they think this crap is good is beyond me [CLOSEQUOTE]

I miss the original TSS show with Leo Laporte and the brunette haired woman. I can't remember her name but they were on ZDTV. Then came techtv and that was cool too. Too bad G4 came along and purchased techtv. This is no longer a network I can turn to for good techy showcases and features. I thought the termination of Call For Help was a bad idea. It's not like I don't like change but Kevin Periera is annoying. I am not hating on him, he is just flat out annoying. I mean the same level of annoying as Adam Sessler. I miss Cat, Patrick, Leo, Yoshi, etc. Too bad G4 is just a Video Game network and I saw this coming as soon as they bought out techtv. The only show I will be watching on this pitiful station will be Sweat episodes that feature The Madden Challenge. Everything else I can either find online or in one of the countless video game magazines that are in circulation. I am sorry to say, G4tv totally sucks now. [CLOSEQUOTE]

G4 tv is not tech tv, G4 is tech for dumbasses, and without Kevin Rose the intelligence level is negative. G4 is the reason the Chinese will lead the world in technology, G4 tv was probably invented by the chinese to make Americans even dumber. Leo Laporte was obnoxous yet knowledgeable, does G4 tv know about qualifications. As for Morgan Webb, she was a surprise I expected total crap when she replaced the last cohost of X-play she couldn't hold her own on ScreenSavers so they sent her to x-ply, but surprise she's actually quite good.
